President Barack Obama gave music mogul Jay Z‘s Roc Nation protégé J. Cole a huge co-sign this weekend by dishing on his admiration for him.
Footage of the leader of the free world bigging up Cole at a South By Southwest event in Austin, Texas has sprouted online.
Recently, rap star Kanye West revealed he had promised President Obama to produce on music veteran Nas‘ upcoming solo album.
Back in January, President Obama said he would give hip-hop artist Kendrick Lamar the edge in a rap battle with Young Money’s Drake.
“Gotta go with Kendrick. I think Drake is an outstanding entertainer, but Kendrick, his lyrics,” President Obama said. “His last album was outstanding. Best album, I think, last year.” (The YouTube Interview)
