Instead of digging deep into the topic, President Obama placed his faith in the NBA of performing a thorough invesitgation.

“When ignorant folks want to advertise their ignorance you don’t really have to do anything, you just let them talk,” Obama said when asked about the controversy during a news conference in Kuala Lumpur with Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak. Obama said he was confident NBA Commissioner Adam Silver would deal with the issue.”Obviously the NBA is a league that is beloved by fans across the country,” Obama said. “It’s got an awful lot of African American players steeped in African American culture.” (Chicago Tribune)

Clearly upset by what Sterling’s audio contained, rap veteran Snoop Dogg aired out the NBA executive over the weekend.

“A message to the motherf*cker that own the Clippers, you b*tch a**, redneck, white-bread, chicken sh*t motherf*cker. F*ck you, your mama and everything connected to you, you racist piece of sh*t. F*ck you.” (Snoop Dogg’s Instagram)

Diehard sports fan Lil Wayne also did not hold back on how controversial his comments were.

“This dedicated to motherf*cking Donald Sterling. First of all, I’ma sum it up for everybody that I believe feel this way. I’ma sum it up for everybody on my side of the field and I’ma sum it up for everybody on my side of the gate and I think you know what I mean when I say that. Uh, f*ck you. That simple. That easy. If I was a Clipper fan, I wouldn’t be one anymore. It’s that simple. But, if I was a Clipper player, a current Clipper player, you wouldn’t see me on the court anymore in that uniform and an apology wouldn’t do it for me. It wouldn’t work for me. A team meeting wouldn’t work for me. … I’d stand up for myself and I’d understand that pride and respect isn’t a team sport. Those are the things you’re supposed to have within yourself.” (TMZ Sports)

Sterling’s controversial audio recording surfaced online heading into the weekend.

“It bothers me a lot that you want to broadcast that you’re associating with black people. Do you have to?” (3:30) — “You can sleep with [black people]. You can bring them in, you can do whatever you want. The little I ask you is not to promote it on that … and not to bring them to my games.” (5:15) — “I’m just saying, in your lousy f******* Instagrams, you don’t have to have yourself with, walking with black people.” (7:45) — “…Don’t put him [Magic] on an Instagram for the world to have to see so they have to call me. And don’t bring him to my games.” (9:13) (TMZ)
