The two Philly stars reportedly took the stage a few nights ago and spit some bars.

Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson joined Philly rapper Freeway onstage Thursday night at The Village Club in Lancaster and performed a song that seemed to amp up the crowd. It’s not Jackson’s first foray into hip-hop: He also rhymed on a Gillie Da Kid track along with Sixer Lou Williams. (Philly)

Last month, Jackson defended balancing a rap label and football.

“Well honestly as long as I am going to work and playing football and keeping that first and foremost. My number one thing I do [is football]. I don’t think anyone should judge anything I do. That’s what I decided to do. My record label? People can hate on it, but no one knows the truth. I just have a passion for music. I grew up around Snoop Dogg and having the relationship I am able to have with him and certain people in the industry. I mean it’s a blessing for me. I am just taking advantage of that and at the same time shedding light and helping out people I grew up with making it in life. Some of them have some great talents in the music game as well, so maybe one of their sirens goes on after this, so I really don’t get into what people think of or say negatively about it. In my eyes it’s positive.” (Sports Radio Interviews)

Fans can also hear Jackson laying down verses in an upcoming new hip-hop album.

Per Tim McManus of the Philly Post, “some close to Jackson are worried,” to the point where some believe he could be headed down a road of “significant financial distress.” Jackson bills it as an opportunity to help his old pals from L.A. “It’s just a different lifestyle and things like that I’m getting into,” Jackson explained. “And just kind of helping out my boys that I grew up with, and just hopefully make it a career as far as rapping and things like that.” As McManus put it, “it’s a champagne and diamond world he’s funding, and it ain’t cheap.” Jaccpot Records has scheduled a new album release for late July, right around the beginning of training camp. Jackson is rapping on the album. (Pro Football Talk)

A couple weeks ago, NBA champion LeBron James got caught rapping at a post-Finals celebration party.

LeBron James is gonna be one exhausted (and hungover) NBA champion today … ’cause the guy partied his face off ’til 6 AM … and TMZ has the pics. James and the rest of the world champion Miami Heat hit up the LIV Miami nightclub at the Fontainebleau Hotel … where LeBron was drinking out of a 15-liter bottle of Ace of Spades champagne … which usually run around $75k. Sources at the club tell us … LeBron grabbed the mic … and rapped along with the music all night long … while a bunch of his teammates puffed away on cigars. At one point, ‘Bron rapped along with the song “Riot” by 2 Chainz while LMFAO rocked out on a nearby stage. (TMZ)
