Despite the negative press, Pharrell still believes T.I. is a genuinely good person.

“He got the heart of a champion,” Pharrell said in an interview. “Whatever happens, Tip gonna be fine, regardless. He got a good heart, and at the end of the day, he’s a human being…He lives a lot of his life on television — you’re bound to make a mistake. If that’s what happened. We don’t know what’s going on right now. All we know is the fingers are being pointed, and I’mma stand by his side ’cause he’s a good guy. What you can’t do is take away any of the good stuff that he’s done for this world and done for the kids and his community. Sorry, you can’t take that away. It’s already done.” (MTV)

Rick Ross also recently came to T.I.’s defense.

“As long as the real G’s and the leaders set the example of ‘This is what you do when your brother gets into trouble,’ ” Ross said in an interview. “Regardless of what it is, you don’t turn your back on him; you ride with him. … You gotta stick to the script. When situations come, you stay firm. If that’s your homie, that’s your homie.” (MTV)

Reports from last week suggested T.I. tested positive for drug usage upon being arrested in California in early September.

Superstar rapper T.I. is back in the feds’ crosshairs with new allegations he had more than Ecstasy when he was busted earlier this month. The Grammy winner, whose real name is Clifford Harris Jr., had codeine and marijuana and tested positive for opiates, according to a petition signed by his probation officer. “We are very disappointed in Mr. Harris’ recent conduct. We will make our sentencing recommendation at the (probation) revocation hearing,” U.S. Attorney Sally Quillian Yates said Friday. (New York Daily News)

T.I. was summoned by a federal judge to appear in Atlanta and defend his reported probation violations last week.

U.S. District Judge Charles Pannel Jr. signed the summons for T.I., whose real name is Clifford Harris. The same judge sentenced Harris for firearms violations. The order lists three possible violations of his bond: possession of ecstasy on Sept. 1, testing positive for opiates on Sept. 2 and associating on Sept. 1 with Cortez Thomas, a convicted felon.
