Grammy-winning producer Pharrell Williams made sure to put his hip-hop connects to the test this weekend by treating Coachella concertgoers to performances from special guests Jay Z, T.I. and more.

The music-making superstar proved how deep his crew of celebrity friends were last night (April 19) with a slew of sets.

For his encore Weekend 2 performance, the “Get Lucky” singer proved once again that he could bring out the biggest talent that he’s worked with over the years to put on one heck of a show, sharing the stage with none other than Jay Z, Usher, T.I., Pusha T, Busta Rhymes, and the Jabbawockeez. After Diddy, Nelly, Diplo, Snoop Dogg, Busta, and Gwen Stefani all joined him last weekend, fans knew there was a good chance that some of Pharrell’s famous friends would be there this time around as well to help out. One of the notable hits Skateboard P performed included his infectious “Happy” anthem.

Though Pharrell didn’t “take it all the way back” as he promised (that would have meant breaking out the Wreckx-N-Effects classic “Rumpshaker”), the hitmaker parade was just a reminder of the scope of his work. Pharrell’s sets both weekends were packed with huge songs (including his collab with Daft Punk, “Get Lucky,” and his current megasmash, “Happy”), and didn’t even touch all of the corners of his catalog. Outside of performances, Williams made headlines recently after partnering up with sportswear line Adidas Originals.

PHARRELL WILLIAMS has teamed up with Adidas Originals to design a collection that will debut this summer. The range will be created with the singer’s eco-friendly Bionic Yarn, which is made using plastic debris from the sea through international collective The Vortex Project. “Working with an iconic brand like Adidas is such an incredible opportunity,” said Williams. “From the classic tracksuit, to growing up in Virginia wearing Stan Smiths, Adidas has been a staple in my life. Their pieces are timeless. This is an exciting partnership for both me and for Bionic Yarn.” (Vogue)

No stranger to high-profile collaborations, Pharrell has a long history of working with established apparel brands.

And to be fair, he’s had more than enough practice, Pharrell once headed up the creative direction for Reebok’s now defunct Ice Cream trainer line, and has also worked with brands A Bathing Ape, Timberland, and Palladium. (Glamour Magazine)
