Fresh out of the penal system, North Carolina rapper Petey Pablo has dished on his experience and, notably, who he paid to cook up meals during the two-year stint.
According to PP, he put up some bucks to have microwave-prepared personal meals.
Petey Pablo had a personal chef while he was locked up for his firearms conviction … but picture less Wolfgang Puck, and more Miss Claudette. Pablo tells TMZ … he paid another inmate to cook his meals — dishes like chicken, pizza, and rice and beans. Wolf ranges are not available in the big house, but microwaves were readily available. The “chef” would buy ingredients from the prison commissary and whip up the meals. Pablo’s favorite — a spicy rice bowl with jalapenos and available meat. Pablo boasts, “It was some of the best food you could ever make in a microwave.” (TMZ)
Pablo received his first taste of freedom early Thursday (March 13).
Petey Pablo, aka Moses Mortimer Barrett III, is now free from federal prison after serving two years on a weapons charge. Back in 2011, the “Freek-a-Leek” rapper pleaded guilty to possession of a stolen gun and was sentenced to 35 months. He had been arrested at Raleigh-Durham International Airport the year before when he tried to board an airplane with the loaded weapon. He was released from prison Thursday (March 13), four months early. (BET)
The North Carolina native received his 35-month bid in February 2012.
Pablo was arrested Sept. 11, 2010, after he was found to have a gun in his carry-on luggage at a security check at Raleigh-Durham International Airport. The hip hop artist was charged with possession of a stolen firearm, carrying a concealed weapon and attempting to take a gun onto an aircraft. With a guilty plea for the stolen firearm charge, he was sentenced to 35 months in jail, and the other two charges were dropped. (NY Daily News)
The “Raise Up” rapper was arrested on a gun possession charge back in 2010.
Raleigh-Durham International Airport spokeswoman Mindy Hamlin says 37-year-old Petey Pablo — whose real name is Moses Barrett III — was arrested Saturday (September 11) morning. He is charged with being a felon with a gun and carrying a concealed, stolen weapon. Hamlin says Transportation Security Administration agents found a gun in the rapper’s carry-on luggage.
