“Pants On The Ground” Guy Co-Signs Baggy Ban, KimYe’s Baby Name Revealed, Jay-Z & Beyoncé Ball Out?

Written By S. Samuel

Wishful Wednesday. It's a day filled with wishful thinking as we start it off with the "American Idol" legend "Pants On THe Ground" rapper bigging up the new New Jersey law on baggy pants. You can bag up the suggestions because Kanye West and Kim Kardashian seem to have finally come up with a baby name. They may have had their baby over a year ago but that's not stopping Beyoncé and Jay-Z from showing off Blue Ivy Carter photos wherever they go. All this coming up in SOHH Whatcha Think.

1. Pull ‘Em Up

There might not be a new sheriff in town but a town in New Jersey is making sure anyone and everyone gets busted for sagging/bagging their pants too low in public. The news has sparked plenty of outrage but if it ever needed one supporter, it’s General Larry Platt. TMZ is all over this:

Two important things — 1) “Pants on the Ground” auteur General Larry Platt is STILL ALIVE!!! … and 2) He absolutely loves the new saggy pants ban in New Jersey. As we reported, the Jersey Shore town of Wildwood has passed a law banning saggy pants from its boardwalk, and it’s scheduled to go into effect next month. But unlike a bunch of famous rappers, legendary “American Idol” anti-sag crusader Platt tells TMZ, “I am happy about the law and would like to see the law passed worldwide.” The 65-year-old General says he’s actually talking to politicians in his hometown of Atlanta about getting the same law passed there. Platt — who says he’d consider a post with Wildwood PD just to enforce the ban — adds, “Saggy pants are a disgrace to the community. When you wear your pants on the ground, you look like a fool, and it pulls down people, churches, schools, education and jobs.” Take us home, Larry! (TMZ)

If the state of New Jersey could ever use a strong co-signer, it’s definitely Larry Platt. Now if only they had come up with this strategy/law in 2009/2010, it may have quieted some of the angry backlash. #SOHHWhatchaThink?

2. Hi, My Name Is

It took a little while but there’s finally word on what name Kanye West and Kim Kardashian are going to go with for their daughter. It’s not necessarily as cut and dry as Blue Ivy Carter, but it’s beautiful enough to stand by itself. Media Take Out has the inside:

MediaTakeOut.com just got a tip from a nurse at Los Angeles’ Cedars Sinai Hospital . . . and they told us that Kanye and Kim’s baby name is . . . Kaidence Donda West. It’s a beautiful name and a tribute to Kanye’s late mother Dr Donda West. And we’re told that she is GORGEOUS . . . just like her mama. CONGRATS KANYE AND KIM!!! (Media Take Out)

It’s still a bit odd they waited this long to come up with a name. Granted, they did have the baby over a month in advance but most couples tend to have those baby names chosen by then. Regardless, here’s to Kaidence Donda West. #SOHHWhatchaThink?

3. 40/40 Clubbin’

Beyoncé and Jay-Z may be parents but they sure know how to live a good life and step away from watching Blue Ivy Carter to go enjoy a fun night out. It seems though even away from their bundle of joy, there’s always a moment or two involving Blue Ivy. Us Weekly via Bossip has more:

If the Empire State were a literal empire, Jay-Z and Beyonce would surely be in the running to become its emperor and empress. The superstar couple are already music royalty, and on Monday, June 17, they proved themselves among Manhattan’s crème de la crème with a glam, star-studded bash — complete with salsa dancing and pictures of Blue Ivy — to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Jay’s 40/40 Club in New York City. Arriving at the club at around 10:30 p.m., the rapper — dapper in a silver-gray suit and crisp white shirt — headed to a VIP booth at the back of the venue, where he was given a bow-wrapped box of cigars, a bottle of Ace of Spades champagne, and a stack of $2 bills. Beyonce joined him in the booth a short time after, stunning in a plunging white gown by Roberto Cavalli. At some point in the night, Australian pop star Kylie Minogue popped by the couple’s table and took a spot next to Beyonce. The two were spotted laughing and talking throughout the evening, even bopping in their seats to the music. Later, Fabolous, Maxwell, and T.I. joined the group, and Beyonce was seen proudly passing around her phone to show off an adorable picture of daughter Blue Ivy. (Bossip)

It’s great to see them staying so active, especially considering Jay has spent so much time working on this new Magna Carta Holy Grain album and Beyoncé is doing Pepsi commericlas/touring left and right. #SOHHWhatchaThink?

  1. Larry is coonin’ but doesn’t know it. What people like him and Bill Cosby are doing is supporting the demonization of anything Black. If he truly cares about morals and ethics (not that there is any correlation between morals and apparel) he should be protesting all the green dyed mohawks, tattooed faced, ear lobed stretched white kids I’ve seen.
