In the interview, Fif said he noticed multiple times when Winfrey appeared to display a stance against his form of hip-hop.

In the chat, which aired as part of Oprah’s Next Chapter on Sunday, the In Da Club hitmaker revealed he chose to become Winfrey’s enemy when she started publicly slating his type of rap music. He explained, “I would see moments when you would discuss your feelings on the culture and everything that was wrong with the culture was what was on my CD, and I was like, ‘Oh, she doesn’t like me’. “I was saying, ‘If I can’t be your friend, at least let me be your enemy, so I co-exist.'” (Toronto Sun)

Winfrey then responded to 50 and gave her stance toward past remarks he has made.

Oprah responded by saying, “That’s interesting… I don’t spend a lot of time looking at people who don’t like me, but I did hear that you said something like… ‘I had white women in my audience that were as old as your grandmother…’ I felt that that was a pointed criticism.” (Toronto Sun)

Back in March, the rap star hinted at his initial problems with Winfrey.

50 was back to chat with the ladies of “The View” on Friday. The hip-hop tycoon, whose empire is reportedly worth over $200 million, sat down on the couch with Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Elisabeth Hasselbeck, and Sherri Shepherd to discuss love, philanthropy, and his dog Oprah. A dapper Curtis provided the male perspective on love. “When a man says I love you the first time, he means this really feels good,” he said. “It’s such a big commitment. It does mean something.” He also explained why he named his dog after Oprah Winfrey. “It started out negative ’cause I thought Oprah didn’t like hip-hop culture,” said Fif. “I got the dog and now I love Oprah.” (Rap-Up)

In 2006, he said Oprah did not treat rappers fairly on her now-defunct “Oprah Winfrey” show.

He usually saves his beefs for other rappers; this time, 50 Cent is going after Oprah Winfrey. In an interview with The Associated Press, 50 complained that Winfrey rarely invites rappers on her talk show: “I think she caters to older white women.” “Oprah’s audience is my audience’s parents,” the 29-year-old rapper said. “So, I could care less about Oprah or her show.” (CBS News)
