Looking past the platinum-selling albums and hit singles, Maybach O said watching Ricky Rozay’s work ethic inspired him the most to look at joining MMG.

“I remember being in the studio for the first time with [Ross], and just going through records,” says Omarion. “He was sitting in the studio, and he tells his engineer, ‘Get Meek on the Skype.’ He got Meek on Skype, and was on the phone with Wale at the same time, and was just orchestrating. And then he had me in the studio and was like, “All right O, I need you to hop on the hook. Wale, I need you to do that. And Meek, send that song over to me.'” For the former B2K member, that group mentality immediately resonated. “Coming from a group, being part of a group, you understand how much value that holds in the success that you do, because everybody’s on one page and everybody can see one goal,” he says. “I was just like, ‘Wow, they have the relationship that I’ve been looking for in a new team.'” (Billboard)

Jagged Edge’s Wingo recently gave his take on seeing a fellow R&B star take his talent to the next level.

“Actually, this is the first time I’m hearing about that, but honestly I like Omarion as an artist. I do. Honestly, I do,” Wingo told SOHH. “He’s put out some real good records like “Touch” and all them records like that. I wouldn’t consider him as a vocalist. I would consider him as an actual performer, because that’s what he is. He’s an entertainer. He gets on stage and entertains you. He doesn’t go out there, sit there and change you to death, have you [throwing] your panties on stage. He’ll go on there straight, [and have the audience saying], “Oh, I need to see him again. This boy can dance his a** off!” He has some real good, feel good records. If they can keep him in the same lane he was in with “Touch” and all those other records, I think he’ll win.” (SOHH)

Recently, Maybach Music’s Meek Mill co-signed the boss Rick Ross inking O to the team.

“I look at Ross like my old head. My dad died when I was young. I never really had an older person in my life that really looked out for me. [Ross] helped change my life–took my music to another level, so it took my money and my family to another level.” Just last week, Maybach Music welcomed Omarion into the family. “That’s the decision Ross made and we gon’ rock with it 100 percent,” said Meek, who has recorded a song with the former B2K member. Earlier this month, Omarion discussed joining the star-studded roster.

“Maybach O. That’s the new movement, man. I’m so excited. I can’t even express, you know, how excited I am, you know what I mean? And just how this whole thing came along, man, it’s just…It’s been a blessing. There’s a difference between your time and when you want to do things and God’s time, you know what I mean? And this right here man, it’s been God’s time. … And for him to just say, “Yo, I believe in you man.” I think that… You know, he played me some music and really, it’s kind of where I always wanted to go. And that’s kind of been a challenge for me too, being a young entertainer is it’s like I’ve been a part of so much, you know what I mean? Like, I’ve been a part of so much.” (XXL Mag)
