Former G-Unit singer Olivia has confirmed recent speculation that she visited 50 Cent at his New York City office last week.
Olivia explained why she wanted to talk with her former boss.
“We wanted to go up there and confront him about certain rumors like, ‘Did you say x, y, and z?,'” she told S2S. “I’m glad we had this meeting and that he wanted to do it to clear everything up. I’m happy we came to a close and that we’re good like we were before. That’s what I needed…I’m sure we probably will [collaborate], but I’d rather focus on my rebranding. I want people to just see Olivia. That’s why I did the album with no features. I want to show I can stand on my own two feet.” (S2S Magazine)
Olivia’s manager, Rich Dollaz, also said she and 50 may be working together.
“He loves Olivia and he’s gonna help her out with some magazines and fragrances and stuff like that that he has his hands in,” Richie said. (S2S Magazine)
Earlier this week, photos of Olivia at 50 Cent’s office building landed online.
The Former G-Unit princess was seen outside the G-Unit offices talking to 50 Cent’s driver and I’ve learned that Olivia and her manager Rich Dollarz went inside the G-Unit offices for a meeting. With who, or for what… I have no clue, but they were in the building. (Global Grind)
50 previously said Olivia used her finances as if she were an R&B superstar when signed to G-Unit.
“Yeah, that was a loss,” Fif said about investing in Olivia’s G-Unit run. “The problem you get with female solo artists is they look, their game is really small. So they look at it and say, it’s Beyonce, Rihanna, Keyshia Cole but when you have an African American female solo artist, she sees where she fits immediately. Problem is, they spend financing like those artists at that point, having the set-up, the make-up artist, the stylist, those different things but when you don’t have a record that connects fast enough, you’ll accumulate a tab like a motherf*cker.” (All Hip Hop)
Olivia later told SOHH she wanted to no longer address the matter and discussed hiring music industry veteran Rich Dollaz to manager her.
“He’s a character” Olivia told SOHH with a smile. “I love Rich, I’m glad we teamed up. We probably met, I wanna say six or seven months ago. And it feels like I’ve known him my whole life. So it’s a great connection with the both of us, we work very well, I don’t have to tell him what I need done, like, he’ll call me and be on top of it all the time with like interviews and whatever. Most managers don’t talk to their artists on a daily basis and he does that, which is really good.” (SOHH)
