A swarm of Twitter reactions from Ja Rule, Talib Kweli, Jae Millz and more have hit the Internet paying homage to legendary New York Yankees owner George Steinbrenner who passed away today.

Radio personalities Miss Info and DJ Envy shared their reactions to Steinbrenner’s passing.

George Steinbrenner reportedly passed away today from a massive heart attack.

George Steinbrenner, a bombastic shipping magnate whose 1970s purchase of the New York Yankees helped turn what had become a moribund franchise into once again the most powerful brand name in American sports, died Tuesday morning in a Florida hospital. He had turned 80 on July 4. In a statement Tuesday, the Steinbrenner family said, “It is with profound sadness that the family of George M. Steinbrenner III announces his passing. He passed away this morning in Tampa, Fla., at age 80.” (Wall Street Journal)
