New York Knicks star player Carmelo Anthony recently gave props to G-Unit's Lloyd Banks in light of his current V6 mixtape's success.
In a short video clip, Melo applauds Banks’ latest solo effort for reaching platinum status.

Despite the success, G-Unit leader 50 Cent recently downplayed Banks’ V6 release.
“Dropping mixtapes…that was my ’02 strategy. That’s 2002 marketing. That’s old. You did nothing if you did that. Look what I’ve done with The Lost Tape or The Big 10. There’s videos for everything that was on the tapes. If you’re going to just wing it and drop a mixtape…pick the highlights that people like most and shoot ’em. Go shoot the video.” (XXL Mag)
After much anticipation, Banks delayed the mixtape from its original release date until mid-summer.
“Still a few things I have to do with the tape,it’s not droppin monday..but soon after!,” Banks tweeted April 28th.

V.6: The Gift, the twelfth mixtape by American rapper Lloyd Banks, was released on July 24, 2012 for free download.
