While neither artist have revealed what is going down, speculation of a music collaboration has already developed.

No Instagram filter needed here: that’s Drake rubbing elbows with Mase you see. With Drizzy’s annual OVO Fest set to shake things up in his native Toronto tonight (August 5), VIBE obtained this exclusive photo, confirming that there’s no telling what Aubrey Graham has planned. Could Mason Betha be popping up for a special rendition of their forgotten 2009 “Best I Ever Had” remix in the Great White North? Could the two be cooking up a collabo for Drizzy’s forthcoming effort Nothing Was The Same or is the Bad Boy spitter flaunting his Versace threads in honor of Drake’s take on the Migos song? Either way, two fingers up for the candid shot. Let’s hope this Kodak moment means some studio time. (VIBE)

Back in May, a photo of Drizzy and rap mogul Jay Z posed in a recording studio surfaced.

And another Jay-Z collaboration is on the horizon. After Raekwon instagrammed a picture of himself and Hove a couple of days ago, another pic of Jay and Drake has now surfaced. The picture was taken by Lenny Santiago, the longtime A&R over at Def Jam and friend of Jay. This caption has been added: “Warning: Please be very afraid of the music we’re working on. OVO x ROCNATION” As we know, Drizzy is working on his new album Nothing Was The Same this summer, it is also rumored that Jay-Z is working on a full-length as well. (Hype Trak)

Last month, Young Money producer Detail updated Drake fans on his upcoming solo album’s progress.

“I just came back from Canada working with Drake. I went out there to get the Canada lifestyle and it was great. He took me to a concert. [We] smoked some hookah. [It was a session] for Nothing Was The Same. That album is phenomenal. The way he works is confirmation that I know what I am doing personally. That’s why he called. That tells me I know what I am doing when I go out there and I just see the body of work and hear it. I see where he sees me fitting in, which is dope because he is kind of doing what I do. He seems to feel as versatile as I am, and I am filling those blanks.” (XXL Mag)

Cash Money Records head Birdman recently said the Toronto native would bring something new to the LP.

Baby is one of the few who has gotten a preview of Drizzy’s upcoming Nothing Was the Same LP, and it left some impression on him. “I think Drake he’s one of those n—as that’s gonna change the game every time he come, because he’s a talented animal. He’s somethin’ I never been around before,” said the music mogul responsible for the careers of Lil Wayne, Juvenile and Nicki Minaj. “He bring it to another level,” Bird said of Drake’s artistic drive. “It be amazing to watch him. You got a Drake, you got a Wayne, you got a Nicki, you got all the little homeys who’s turnin’ the corner and everybody is super talented. It’s just something amazing for me to witness in my lifetime.” (MTV)
