G-Unit leader 50 Cent recently shared his thoughts on Shady Records CEO Eminem's selling ability and why the Grammy-winning rap star stands in his own lane.
After initially speaking on artists beefing with one another, 50 responded to a Twitter critic saying he would never push out Em-type numbers.
“Ain’t it funny how artist hate on other artist. just let the music be each artist contribution to hiphop d*mn,” 50 tweeted Monday (February 21).

In late 2009, Eminem was crowned the biggest-selling artist of the past ten years.
Em sold more than 32.2 million albums in the 2000s, edging out the Beatles to claim the title of top-selling artist. The Beatles ended up with the decade’s best-selling album (they sold nearly 11.5 million copies of 2000’s greatest-hits comp 1,) besting the likes of ‘NSYNC‘s No Strings Attached (11.1 million copies sold) and Norah Jones‘ Come Away With Me, (10.5 million). Eminem was the only artist to place two albums on the list; his The Marshall Mathers LP and Eminem Show records landed at #4 and 5, selling 10.2 million and 9.8 million copies, respectively. Interestingly, of the top 10 albums of the decade, the most recently released is Usher‘s Confessions, which came out in 2004. (MTV)
Em’s latest album, Recovery, became the biggest sales debut since 2008 last June.
Eminem’s “Recovery” is going quite well. The rapper’s CD sold 741,000 in its first week of release, making it the best debut of the year. The figures were released by Eminem’s record label, Interscope, on Tuesday and confirmed by Nielsen SoundScan. It’s actually the best album debut since October 2008, when AC/DC’s “Black Ice” topped the charts with sales of 784,000. (Associated Press)
To date, Em’s Grammy-winning album has sold over three million copies.
Grammy-winning rapper Eminem’s Recovery received a three-slot boost to No. 7 with 37,800. With 34 weeks in the books, Slim Shadys’ Grammy-winning LP has pushed out 3,573,300 records. (SOHH Sales Wrap)
