After months of anticipation, Young Money star Nicki Minaj's new joint clothing partnership with Kmart has come into fruition by officially landing into stores today (October 16).
According to reports, diehard Nicki fans can now get their hands on the self-proclaimed Barbie’s gear right now.
Rapper and singer Nicki Minaj, known for her colorful and often outrageous fashion choices, is now giving people a chance to dress just like her. On Tuesday, Minaj launched a new clothing line for Kmart and ShopYourWay.com. The Nicki Minaj Collection includes such items as color block skirts, bandage dresses, deconstructed jean jackets and galaxy print bomber jackets. (Wall Street Journal)

According to the Associated Press, the rapper has no plans to become a fashion designer, but instead wants to share clothes that suit her style with people across America. Her inspiration? She says it’s higher-priced luxury brands such as Versace, Chanel and Herve Leger. A representative for Minaj didn’t return a request for a comment. The new collection by Minaj, who spent a season as a judge on “American Idol,” has items that range from $3.99 to $37.99. (Wall Street Journal)
Instead of waiting for her official drop date, Minaj unveiled some of her clothing pieces earlier this month.

Not alone in the venture, Maroon 5’s Adam Levine is also launching his own gear through Kmart.

The two musicians-turned-reality-show-judges will “design and develop their collections with Kmart to reflect their strong creative talents, expressive personalities, and distinctive individual styles,” according to the press release. I mean, Nicki has been very openly shopping around her potential clothing line since last August, and even back then said, “My biggest goal was to make a line that was going to be affordable to my fans and also rich enough in quality that they’ll feel like they’re wearing exactly what I’m wearing.” And for Adam, well, remember he launched a clothing collection (called 222) back in 2010, and since then has been flirting in and out of fashion world by performing at the Victoria’s Secret runway show and releasing his first-ever fragrance?
