New York rapper Nicki Minaj may have went too far on social media. The hip-hop vixen is receiving some serious backlash after putting up an Instagram clip of a mentally ill woman.
According to reports, the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI-Miami) is furious af over Nicki’s jaw-dropping post.
NAMI says it’s pissed Nicki’s used her fame — she has 70 million IG followers — to influence young people in a negative manner. A rep for NAMI says, “Nobody would make fun of a cancer patient, and mental illness is an illness like any other.” Several comments on the video claim it’s well-known in South Beach the woman in the video is mentally ill. In Nicki’s defense, it’s entirely plausible she didn’t know that … plus, she never says anything nasty to the woman. (TMZ)
