Young Money's Nicki Minaj recently discussed what rap fans could anticipate when Lil Wayne is released from jail this fall and why his competition may be obliterated.

According to Minaj, Wayne has not lost touch of his skills since being placed behind bars last March.

“Can you only imagine what he’s been holding and what’s building up in that brain?” Minaj said in an interview with radio host Greg Street. “I’m afraid for anybody … any of his competition when he gets out, because I just feel like it’s going to be monumental. He’s in a great state. When I speak to him, he sounds like he has some sort of clear understanding of everything now, almost like he’s had some weird sort of epiphany since he’s been there, so I’m sure his stuff is only going to get better.” (V-103)

Aside from Young Money waiting for the return of their leader, Midwest rapper Tech N9ne is set to up Wayne’s profile with a long-awaited collaboration.

“His people have been contacting us already, so I’m anxious to see what he sends me,” N9ne said in an interview. “I’m hearing his camp is all ready to send over some music. And I’ll be in New York soon so hopefully I can visit him before he gets out. I just want to thank Wayne for even mentioning me. I’ve been following his career since he started. Just watching him evolve–he was always clever with the rhymes. My own quest was always to get my music out to everybody in [the] world and working with Wayne is truly a way to get it out there.” (VIBE)

Still awaiting an early November release for his gun conviction, Wayne has kept fans up-to-date with his prison experience through occasional blogs.

“Well ain’t nothing going on in here but the time, which seems like it’s taking forever,” Wayne wrote in his new blog entry titled Just Another Day. “I’m trying to make the most out of every second tho, mentally. There’s some pretty cool people in here. Even though this isn’t a cool place to be. I’ve learned plenty already and the best lesson is to not come back. Last night, I kicked a** in UNO! Anyway, that’s neither here nor there. Just thought I’d let y’all know. Gotta stay hydrated. Though it’s hot, I still work out. Now don’t be expecting me to look like Hercules when I get out, but I should be a little bulky. I guess. Anyways, please remember to always check for your name in the “thank yous”. I’m always reading letters and responding…” (Weezy Thanx You)

Last month, Wayne gave his first Rikers Island radio interview to New York radio host Funkmaster Flex.

“I’ll definitely move more carefully,” Wayne told radio personality Funkmaster Flex about precautions he will take after leaving Rikers Island in November. “Everybody says you’re here for a reason, so, I promise you Flex, I try to find that reason everyday. I think when I get out, that’ll be the only time I’ll know the answer…[I’m Not A Human Being EP] will drop before Tha Carter IV, only on the Internet. It’s stuff I recorded right before I came in. I don’t want the phone to hang-up on us so I want to say thank-you to all my fans and I love you Flex for giving me this opportunity…” (In Flex We Trust)
