Although Wayne is home weeks before her Pink Friday debut drops, Minaj’s Young Money boss will not be featured on the LP.

“I think that he’s definitely going to be doing a remix, as he was in jail when I recorded Pink Friday,” Nicki told DJ Skee on 102.7 KIIS FM’s “New MusicShow.” “He’s not on Pink Friday, so I will definitely want to get his little butt in the studio to do a remix right away…He’s doing well. He’s in great spirits. He’s always upbeat…I’ll see him on Sunday. I cannot wait! I just can’t wait to hug him and stuff.” (Rap-Up)

Upon his release from jail this week, Minaj was one of many artists who tweeted a welcome back message.

“Wayne’s home! #WelcomeHomeWeezy @liltunechi@BIRDMAN5STAR @mackmaine #YMCMB,” she tweeted Thursday (November 4). (Nicki Minaj’s Twitter)

Despite not being featured on the LP, the rapper said she talked with Wayne during his stint behind bars about the project’s title.

“He said that people were writing him in jail saying, ‘Oh, we loved Thank Me Later and we can’t wait for Pink Friday.’ So he said he was looking at the letters like, ‘What the h*ll is Pink Friday? Because I didn’t even tell him my album name and stuff and he found out in jail because of like, the fans writing him letters. He was like, ‘OK Nick, that’s the name of your album?’ And we were just having a great conversation and I stayed there for like, two hours and then broke out. But thank God he’ll be back November 4th.” (Hot 97)

In September, Minaj predicted her debut would have to be a quality project in order for female emcees to be respected.

“[Young Money] won’t look to sign other female rappers if the project doesn’t do well, because they’re going to say, ‘Well, her buzz was so crazy, and if she couldn’t do it, then no one can do it,’ and I don’t want that to happen. So I’m doing this as well for all the girls…I hope it will open doors for all girls everywhere who ever wanted to pick up a mic and rap and who have been kind of afraid to do it…For a long time in my life, I was afraid to be a solo female rapper, because everyone told me, ‘It doesn’t work. It’s not going to happen. Record companies are never going to invest in you just to get it. Just be part of a group.’ … Even as far as I’ve come now is already a testament in my mind, so I hope the female rappers understand how big it is for our culture that the album does well.” (V-103)

Pink Friday is scheduled to drop Monday, November 22nd.
