Nicki Minaj fans have once again fallen victim to false concert promotion, forcing the Young Money star to address the matter on Twitter.
According to Minaj, a scammer is promoting her to appear in New Jersey next month.
“I will NOT. I repeat. NOT!!!! Will NOT be @ the Prudential Center in NJ on the 28th. WILL NOT!!!!! Pls RT,” she tweeted Sunday (September 26th).
“Another fraudulent show being promoted. I am NOT contracted to be in Jersey on the 28th of October. God bless.#itspinkfridayhoe.” (Nicki Minaj’s Twitter)
Last week, tickets sales for a fake Minaj show at Montclair State University were posted on the school’s Twitter page.
“Stay tuned for information about **Nicki Minaj** concert ticketsales!!! Info coming soon!!!,” a tweet read from September 15th.
“It’s official: Tickets for the Nicki Minaj Concert (10/8) will go on sale Wednesday, 9/22, 8:30am-2pm, SC Quad….http://fb.me/FgwLmZPP” (MSU CSI’s Twitter)
Minaj later hit up Twitter to call out the scammers.
“what is this i’m hearing about a MSU concert? where and when is this concert supposed to be? i feel so bad 4 ppl who were scammed,” she tweeted Wednesday.
“i tell u guys all the time, if u don’t see me tweet about it, its not real. i’m gonna figure out the b*stards behind this MSU scam.”
“FOR THE RECORD. I’M NOT DOING ANY SHOWS BETWEEN NOW AND THE 22ND OF OCTOBER. WEN SHOWS R CONFIRMED I’LL LET U GUYS KNOW. I’M SORRY”
“wen i find out the person responsible for this MSU scam i’m putting their name on twitter. scamming college kids? go to h*ll!” (Nicki Minaj’s Twitter)
She also spoke with radio personality Funkmaster Flex and detailed her frustrations.
“I didn’t have anything to do with it,” Nicki explained. “People are going around pretending that they are able to book me or they’re able to sign paperwork to get me there… It’s a lot of college clubs or college shows being promoted that I have no idea about.” (Hot 97)
