Nicki Minaj Twerk, Twerk, Twerks It For Busta Rhymes [Audio]

Cash Money Records rapper Busta Rhymes has finally put in some studio time with labelmate Nicki Minaj promptly ending his streak of not having a collabo with the self-proclaimed Barbie.

With an exclusive premiere courtesy of Hot 97 radio veteran Funkmster Flex, the new track premiered online Thursday (June 6) night.

Just a few days ago we found out Busta Rhymes and Nicki Minaj shot a video for the official remix of Busta’s latest single ‘Twerk It’ and tonight Hot 97’s Funk Flex started his show off with the premiere of the audio. Nicki’s verse on this might be exactly what the song needed to blow up. Production comes from Pharrell. The video, which is being directed by Director X, was shot over in Flatbush, Brooklyn. DJ Khaled was also spotted on set so don’t be surprised to see him make a cameo. (Direct Lyrics)

Reports of them hooking up for the “Twerk It” remix music video landed online earlier this week.

Yesterday, Busta Rhymes, Nicki Minaj and Pharrell shot a music video for the “Twerk It” remix at Pulse 48 in Flatbush, Brooklyn. The original song has already been released, but the Young Money Barbie will be featured on the official remix that should be dropping soon. Last month, Busta explained why he had not yet locked in a collabo with labelmates like Nicki Minaj and Drake.

“Um . . . and you haven’t heard anything with me and Nicki. “Roman’s Revenge (Remix),” that was something I did on my own. It wasn’t like an official remix, so technically, we haven’t gone in to do a record neither. So, Drake and Nicki, we haven’t gone in, no. … It usually happens when the times are right or when the idea is right. … We’ve talked before. I’ve had several conversations about doing records with Drake, we’ve actually been in the studio trying to f*ck around. Same with Nicki. It just . . . when we start an idea, sometimes you get distracted. The stars just hasn’t aligned yet for that to actually happen. I think also, schedule. They’ve been shaking consistently for the last two, three years, putting out an album a year.” (Rolling Stone)

The Flipmode Squad leader previously talked to SOHH and offered a take on Nicki’s evolving career.

“I don’t think there’s anything missing from what she’s doing,” Busta recently told SOHH when asked what advice he could offer Minaj in reference to launching a film career. “She’s a new artist. She’s doing more than what new artists do as far as being everywhere and having the success and acknowledgment that she’s had. I’m just saying the only thing left for her to do, from what I can see, and not only the thing left for her to do but the next thing that I would like to see her do is films.” (SOHH)
