Young Money's Nicki Minaj has found herself in a war of words with fellow East Coast rapper Ransom in light of an alleged shot he fired at her in a new song called "Man Alone."
Footage of Nicki going off on the rapper after he allegedly claimed to ghostwrite for her during the pre-Young Money days has surfaced.
Ransom recently released a new song called “Man Alone” which contained the lyric, “Before Nicki was wearing those crazy wigs, I was doing verses for her, just hoping she made it big.” So, when we asked Nicki about the situation last night — she went insane … crushing Ransom as a liar who’s “f**king desperate.” “Yo, I’m not even a man and n**gas got my d*ck in their mouth,” Nicki said. It goes on and she gets angrier — you gotta watch the clip. Now, here’s the problem — Ransom says the lyric was NOT meant as a diss. After the song came out, he tweeted, “As far as I know she writes her own [lyrics].” (TMZ)
Following the footage being released, Ransom publicly spoke out.
“I’m on some F*CK everybody shit!!!,” he tweeted Wednesday (August 7).
@NICKIMINAJ Whatever Nick.. Now I got to protect myself..” (Ransom’s Twitter)
Nicki has even jumped onto her Twitter page to respond.
“@201Ransom The line CAN be & WAS taken out of context! PERIOD! Shlda been reworded. Ima protect my credibility @ ALL costs! #WishUDaBest XO” (Nicki Minaj’s Twitter)
Minaj also retweeted a Ransom tweet after he denied ghostwriting her tunes back in the day.
After getting wind of the YMCMB empress’ comments, the artist born Randy Nichols backtracked on the implied meaning of his lyrics, tweeting that “as far as I know she writes her own,” prompting a swift retweet from Nicki and the following exclamation point-filled rebuttal: “YES SIRRRR!!!!!!!! Always HAVE always WILL!!!!!!!! Thx!!! —> RT @201Ransom @michaelsofamous as far as I know she writes her own,” she retweeted. (RapFix)
