Young Money's Nicki Minaj has responded to fans' reactions of her new "Your Love" music video which debuted online yesterday.
Answering and re-tweeting her Twitter followers’ questions, Minaj also talked about some of the set’s scenes and cameos.

Love is a battlefield in Nicki Minaj’s red-hot video for “Your Love,” the No. 1 rap song in the country from her debut album, due November 23. In her latest role, the Harajuku Barbie stars as a samurai-in-training, who falls in love with her master while a jealous peer fights for his affection. Will love conquer all? (Rap-Up)
Featuring actor Michael Jai White as her teacher, Minaj recently explained her video’s concept.
“We wanted to have geisha themes, samurai themes, stuff like that,” Minaj told MTV News from the Los Angeles set. “I wanted to tell a love story. It’s just kinda liking a guy, where he’s not really for you to like — the forbidden fruit — and me and this other girl happen to like him and we go to war.” Nicki raps while White teaches a martial arts class. She’s soon swooning over her instructor. Another student, however, also has feelings for the teacher and observes Nicki’s smitten ways. The two women exchange words that escalate into all-out battle. Minaj’s single has continued its dominance on the Billboard Rap Songs chart as of late.
‘Your Love’ is the first single by a female rap artist to top the Rap Songs chart in seven years, with Lil’ Kim‘s ‘Magic Stick’ featuring 50 Cent serving as the last track to hold the same position back in June 2003 for five consecutive weeks. And while Kim had some male assistance, Missy Elliott is the last female artist to have a solo track top the chart with ‘Work It’ in November ’02. (The Boom Box)
