Despite the hot on-screen moments, Nicki insisted it was all fun and games during the video shoot.

“Not only is he my boss, but he’s also like my brother,” Minaj said. “It’s very weird because I’m just used to Wayne making fun of me, and all of Young Money boys making fun of me, so every time they yelled ‘Cut!’ I was just being picked on. It was completely them being bullies to me. But it’s still like Wayne is still so sexy and so I texted Wayne and I was like, you’re going to have all the chicks back on you, know what I’m saying? Because when this video comes out, he looks like art, he looks like a piece of art all tatted up, all sexy, black and beautiful.” (MTV)

Minaj also revealed Wayne followed her every move and would not lay a finger on her without permission.

“He refused to touch me, he’s so respectful, he refused to touch me, and then I was like, ‘Wayne,’ I was like, ‘You could do this.’ But he was acting scared, like, ‘Yo, Nick, this is my dream. I’m gonna be a man after this video.’ He was just being crazy,” Minaj said. “But if I didn’t tell him ‘Yes, you can do this’ or ‘touch this,’ he refused to do it, like he’s a southern gentlemen, which people don’t realize.” (MTV)

After weeks of teaser videos and behind-the-scenes photos, their “High School” music video premiered online yesterday (April 2).

This is a pretty good one, though, all things considered: The song, with assistance from Lil Wayne, is sultry and provocative, and now with a visual component it’s even more dynamic: Minaj struts and flaunts in a lot of sexy swimsuits, makes out with Wayne in a bedroom, and appears to be a jewel thief, or something? Because she and Weezy escape via helicopter with some diamonds at the end of the video? Whatever. It’s not totally clear. Also, it doesn’t totally matter. Narrative matters much less here than her curves and weaves. Even though the clip was shot before his seizure scare, it’s still nice to see Weezy in typically lecherous form, up to his old tricks. Looks like it’s business as usual — for now. (Idolator)

A sultry teaser for the eye-catching visual surfaced across the Internet last week.

Big things are happening for Nicki Minaj! A teaser clip for her highly anticipated music video for the song “High School” has released before its official release on April 2. The song, a collaboration with her friend Lil Wayne, has lyrics like, “They holler at me but its you/ You, this ain’t high school/ Me and my crew, we can slide through/ Give it to you whenever you want.” The video will feature Nicki and Lil Wayne in a large mansion and hanging by the pool, according to MTV. Minaj’s video received undesired attention recently when Lil Wayne suffered a seizure while at the shoot. Luckily, the rapper was able to make a full recovery, despite reports otherwise.
