According to reports, the New York natives traveled out to Los Angeles this week to start putting the visuals together.

The “Freaks” came out on set of French Montana’s video for his new single featuring Nicki Minaj. The Bad Boy rapper and Young Money diva went in front of the lens with director Eif Rivera (“Ocho Cinco”) in L.A. on Monday. The clip called for some voluptuous ladies, who worked the floor while twerking to the dancehall-infused record off French’s upcoming debut Excuse My French, due May 21. The Ciroc was flowing as French rocked furs and designer threads by Alexander McQueen, while his co-star Nicki wore curly blonde hair in her scenes. The song’s producer, Rico Love, also stopped by to make a cameo. (Rap-Up)

Last week, Montana cited Minaj’s position in the rap game for influencing his decision to reserve a spot for her on “Freaks.”

French said it was a no-brainer to get Nicki on the track, since he was doing it for New York. “I just felt like she was one of the hottest female artists to come out of New York in a while, and I felt the same about me,” he explained on Wednesday’s episode of “RapFix Live.” “So I felt it was a record that’s more for the city — [you] see two people that’s doing real good put a record together.” French said it was a no-brainer to get Nicki on the track, since he was doing it for New York. “I just felt like she was one of the hottest female artists to come out of New York in a while, and I felt the same about me,” he explained on Wednesday’s episode of “RapFix Live.” “So I felt it was a record that’s more for the city — [you] see two people that’s doing real good put a record together.” (MTV)

French leads the buzzing track off with rhymes about his riches and lavish lifestyle.

“Light up the fire, you know we’re getting higher,” French raps. “Rolling up loud, real n*ggas move in quiet/When I buy it, you donkeys on a diet/Bringing all my jewels, I didn’t know I’d start a riot/Riding with the blanka, messing up your make-up, you blowing up her phone, she ain’t tryin’ to pick up — Riding with the wolves, ain’t talkin’ Minnesota, shorty coming over, go and bend it over/Let me bank on it, put a drink on it/You a freak, put my name on it.” (“Freaks”)

Last month, the Bad Boy rapper hyped up his song’s destined chart-topping potential.

“It will drop next week,” Montana promised in an interview. “We kind of redid the Lil Vicious and Doug E. Fresh song, ‘Freaks,’ and it will be Top 40 [charts] number one. We just working. Look out for Excuse My French, dropping April 16th. We just here, man, you know. French Montana, hottest in the street. [How’s Nicki’s verse?] Wheeew. You gotta hear it, you know, with the song. It’s called ‘Freaks,’ so you know what she’s talking about. I ain’t telling you, I’ll let her tell you on the record.” (Rap-Up TV)
