Nicki Minaj Hit Song Inspired By “Biggest Crush,” Reveals Her Hollywood Heartthrob

Young Money rapper Nicki Minaj recently revealed that her biggest Hollywood crush as a child was famous actor Bruce Willis.

Reflecting on his acknowledgement of being referenced on her “Your Love” single, Minaj revealed her admiration for the Die Hard movie action hero.

“I saw the [MTV] footage when he was like, ‘Yeah, I don’t know what she’s saying in it, but I can recognize my name.’ I was like ‘Yes!’ ” the Young Money diva exclaimed. Apparently, the femcee has been a die-hard Willis fan for a while. “It was so funny, because I had the biggest crush on Bruce Willis when I was little,” the MC confided. (MTV)

On the track, “Your Love,” Minaj references Willis on her chorus.

“Shorty I’mma only tell you this once, you the illest/And for your lovin’ I’mma ‘Die Hard’ like Bruce Willis/You got spark, you, you got spunk/You, you got something all the girls want/You’re like a candy store/And I’m a toddler/You got me wantin’ more and mo’ mo’ more of/Your love, your love…” (“Your Love”)

The song has helped earn Minaj a spot in Billboard history.

‘Your Love’ is the first single by a female rap artist to top the Rap Songs chart in seven years, with Lil’ Kim‘s ‘Magic Stick’ featuring 50 Cent serving as the last track to hold the same position back in June 2003 for five consecutive weeks. And while Kim had some male assistance, Missy Elliott is the last female artist to have a solo track top the chart with ‘Work It’ in November ’02. (The Boom Box)

Despite her tales of love, the rapper talked about putting music over her sex life in an interview last December.

“I have no dating life, I can only hope and wish and imagine and fantasize,” she said in an interview. “They demand too much. In life there’s always going to be one thing that takes precedence, and when you’re as hungry as I am you have tunnel vision. So I can’t really cater to a dude right now — I love them and I think they’re cute, but I can’t do what they want me to do for them right now. I’ve always wanted to go to Hawaii. I really want to go there and just lay on the beach. Then, also, I could have the other rap girls feed me fruit–since they don’t have anything to do right now!
