Nicki Minaj Helps Load Up Lil Wayne’s Carter

Young Money’s Nicki Minaj is offering a helping hand to Lil Wayne‘s upcoming Tha Carter IV solo album by revealing having submitted a new track for the project.

While scarce with details, Minaj did confirm the record is now in Wayne’s possession.

“I recorded something for Carter IV, and I recorded something with the Birdman recently,” Nicki revealed in an interview. “I think Carter IV is gonna just be exceptional, of course — I think Wayne is definitely on his grind crazy right now. But yep, my Carter IV verse has been handed in officially.” (MTV)

In early February, Minaj talked to radio host Tim Westwood about the project’s superior production.

“Of course, if Wayne would have me, yes,” Minaj told Tim Westwood when asked if she will appear on Tha Carter IV. “I think that’s going to be very anticipated. I think it’s already being anticipated. His beat selection alone is going to friggin’ kill. I’ve already heard a couple of the beats, in fact, the other day, I went to tell this producer, ‘Yo, hold that beat for me.’ And he said, Wayne already took it. And it hurt my heart, I was like, ‘Errr’. But yeah, he’s snatching them up. He’s ready. I cannot wait. I’m just, I’m proud of him. I’m super proud of him.” (“Tim Westwood TV”)

A few weeks ago, Minaj revealed her intent to stop doing collaborations for two years.

“I’m done with the collabs,” Minaj revealed in an interview. “No more collabs for the next two years. [Britney Spears?] Oh yeah. [smiles] Britney’s a snatch like me and she’s cute. Yes. We might could do something.” (Hip Hollywood)

Based on a leaked Cash Money/Young Money release date list, Carter IV is slated to invade retail stores in late May.

Get ready to hear a whole lot of Young Money Cash Money Billionaires this summer. YMCMB is readying releases from Wayne, Bow Wow, Lil Twist, G Malone & Brisco, DJ Khaled, Birdman & Jay Sean, and rounding it all out, Drake. Apparently Birdman has officially handed in tentative dates for releases to the CEO of Blu Division Music. Interesting enough the list is titled “YMCMB A Hot Summer.” If this holds true this is going to be the hottest summer under the sun! May 24: Lil Wayne. June 7: Bow Wow. June 14: G Malone & Brisco. June 21: Lil Twist. June 28: DJ Khaled. July 5: Birdman & Jay Sean. September 13: Drake. (The Source)
