In addition to urban genres, Minaj also admitted her ears are tuned to gospel and reggae music.

“What music do I listen to? I listen to Beyonce, I listen to Rihanna, I listen to Kanye [West]. I listen to, of course Lil Wayne, and you know, of course Drake. I listen to a lot of gospel music. I listen to Cyndi Lauper, I listen to Avril Lavigne. I just bought a whole bunch of reggae like Movado and Lady Saw and Beenie Man.” (Elle Magazine)

Last fall, Minaj revealed her dream to one day collaborate with Beyonce.

“Probably just Beyoncé right now,” revealed Minaj when asked about who she wants to collaborate with. “I’ve worked with just about all my dream collabs, like I’ve worked with Jay-Z and I’ve worked with Kanye and I worked with Rihanna and I’ve worked with Eminem. Those were at the top of my list. Now that I’ve done that, probably the only one on my list that I haven’t worked with that I’m really, really excited about is Beyoncé.” (Us Magazine)

Despite her love for Beyonce, Minaj recently revealed her intent to indefinitely stop doing collaborations.

“I’m done with the collabs,” Minaj revealed in an interview. “No more collabs for the next two years. [Britney Spears?] Oh yeah. [smiles] Britney’s a snatch like me and she’s cute. Yes. We might could do something.” (Hip Hollywood)

Country star Taylor Swift recently turned heads after displaying her appreciation toward Minaj’s music.

During a visit to Nashville’s 107.5 The River, radio jocks gave the singer the opportunity to request one song. Swift opted for Minaj’s ‘Super Bass’, a track off her debut album, ‘Pink Friday’. The country crooner, rather shyly, admitted she was able to recite the words to the rapper’s track. Though she revealed she usually only spits a verse in the comfort of her own car, Swift demonstrated her rhyming abilities by rapping a few choice lines during her interview. Once finished, Taylor seemed a bit embarrassed over how she performed. “I just rapped acappella very badly,” she stated. “But it’s a good enough song.” (AOL Music Blog)
