Rappers Drake and Nicki Minaj representatives have come forward to address speculation by both artist claiming they have officially married.
Despite breaking the news via their separate Twitter accounts, reps denied the validity of their claims.
Reps for both Drake and Nicki Minaj tell E! News that the rappers did not tie the knot, though both tweeted that they did earlier today. While Drake said in his tune “Miss Me” that he fancied marrying the Trinidadian newcomer, the duo decided to team up instead for what appears to be a publicity stunt. (And we bet plenty of people have been looking up that song today.) (E! Online)
Hip-Hop personality Miss Info also believed the alleged marriage was merely a prank pulled by the Young Money superstars.
Wipe your brows, Barbies and Aubries. They’re not married. Its just two friends having fun, pulling the twitter fire alarm on a Summer Friday. I actually think Nicki and Drake would make a cute couple but Nicki has been in a relationship for a while. Meanwhile Drake has been rumored to be hanging out with actress Taraji Henson while his ex-boo Maliah is on display in Vibe. (Miss Info TV)
Minaj initially asked Drake if he was still going to make an “announcement” via Twitter yesterday.
“U scurred? @drakkardnoir u ready to make the announcement or wha?,” she tweeted Friday (August 27).
“Yes, its true. Drake and I tied the knot. > RT @drakkardnoir@nickiminaj Baby I am never scared. PROUD is more the word I would use.” (Nicki Minaj’s Twitter)
Drake later replied and announced his feelings toward Minaj.
“@nickiminaj Baby I am never scared. PROUD is more the word I would use.”
“Please refer to @nickiminaj as Mrs. Aubrey Drake Graham and dont stare at her too long. She’s finally mine. :)” (Drake’s Twitter)
