Young Money's Nicki Minaj recently broke down the bodies of 50 Cent and Trey Songz along with explaining why Kanye West's super ego impresses her.
In addition to 50, Trey and Ye, Minaj also spoke on R&B sensations Robin Thicke and Usher.
“Usher, I always liked his, you know, [body] and he’s a great dancer,” Nicki told rap personality Funkmaster Flex. “[laughs] Robin is a very sexy appealing man, whenever I see him, he looks like a doll. [Trey Songz has] a body to die for. If I’m being honest, I’ve never been into the real sexy dude, the dude that do sexy faces and stuff, I don’t even like when girls do that. 50’s cut. [laughs] 50’s cut. 50’s also, big cut. Kanye’s cockyness makes him a ten. That’s the same with 50 too. They’re so over-the-top confident.” (“Full Throttle”)
Last December, the rapper talked about putting music over a sex life.
“I have no dating life, I can only hope and wish and imagine and fantasize,” she said in an interview. “They demand too much. In life there’s always going to be one thing that takes precedence, and when you’re as hungry as I am you have tunnel vision. So I can’t really cater to a dude right now — I love them and I think they’re cute, but I can’t do what they want me to do for them right now. I’ve always wanted to go to Hawaii. I really want to go there and just lay on the beach. Then, also, I could have the other rap girls feed me fruit–since they don’t have anything to do right now! [Laughs.] Strawberries, grapes, watermelon, and pineapple. I so know that part is going to make the interview.” (Complex)
In a recent FADER interview, Minaj spoke on squeezing out of her sex symbol image.
“That’s the craziest once I’ve written yet,” she told FADER writer Julianne Escobedo Shepherd. “I sound like a Martian. I just really didn’t give a d*mn, just being crazy as I could possibly be…I don’t know where I fit in the spectrum of rap yet, I think now I’m kind of proving myself, but before, people thought I was more of a sex symbol or wannabe sex symbol. Now they’re seeing. That’s why I make the goofiest faces, I don’t want people to think I’m up here trying to be cute. I’m trying to entertain, and entertaining is more than exuding sex appeal. I don’t think that’s fun. I don’t find it fun watching someone trying to be sexy. It’s wack. I’m trying to just show my true personality, and I think that means more than anything else. I think when personality is at the forefront, its not about male or female, its just about, who is this weird character?” (The FADER)
Earlier this year, Minaj said she was hoping to get Kanye West on her as-of-yet untitled debut.
“I’m probably definitely going to work with Kanye,” she revealed in an interview. “On my debut, I worked with Sean Garrett. And probably Swizz Beatz, he’s gonna send me something. I like to work with unknown producers as well, so I accept beats from everybody.” (Rap-Up)
