Young Money star Nicki Minaj opens up about losing someone close to her in a new record premiered this week called "We Miss You."
Premiered last night by New York’s Hot 97 radio host Funkmaster Flex, Minaj gets emotional on the track.

While the track appears to be a tribute to her murdered cousin, additional reporting claims it is a previously recorded unreleased song.
Nicki Minaj remembers a lost loved one on the poignant “We Miss You.” While the song is reportedly an old recording, the timing is uncanny considering the tragic passing of her cousin earlier this week. “Why’d you have to leave in July on a peaceful and serene summer night?” she eerily asks. “I’ll never love again.” (Rap-Up)
Earlier this week, the New York Police Department confirmed Minaj’s cousin, Nicholas Telemaque, was murdered.
The NYPD tells E! that Telemaque was found with multiple gunshot wounds yesterday at 2:40 a.m. after officers responded to a 911 call of shots fired. “He was the victim of multiple gunshot wounds in his upper torso,” an NYPD spokesman said. EMS arrived on the scene shortly after and transferred him to Kings County Hospital where he was pronounced DOA. (E! News)
The shooting took place in Brooklyn early Monday (July 4) morning.
On Monday, July 4, at approximately 2:40 a.m. ET, police responded to a call in East Flatbush, Brooklyn, where they found Telemaque, 27, with multiple gunshot wounds to the upper torso region. He was taken to Kings County Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival. (MTV)
