Game has promised that his new mixtape will be a teaser to the upcoming R.E.D. Album.

Brake Lights is like an appetizer to The R.E.D. Album,” Game told XXL. “I know a lot of people been waiting on R.E.D., so I wanted to put out something to hold my them over, while I finish up my album.” Brake Lights follows up the Compton-bred MC’s last release, The Red Room, which was downloaded by upwards of 10,000 fans within the first hour that it was made available on XXLMag.com. Game talked about linking with Wake Flocka Flame for the project last month.

“Mixtapes, you don’t mix them joints,” Game said in an interview. “You just throw them out. But Cool wanted to mix them joints, make sure all the vocals and the beats was right, well blended. We dropped the ‘M.I.A’ joint — the LeBron, D. Wade and Chris Bosh joint — on the Internet. The people went nuts. It was the first song talking about that. A shot in the dark I threw out there for the people, man. We buzzin’ … I did a few collaboration. I got something I did with [Lil] Wayne before he left. I got something with Baby. Always gotta have them a part of anything red. Them my dudes. Waka Flocka came through to jump on the mixtape hook. I got some stuff, man.” (MTV)

The cover art to Game’s new mixtape leaked on the Internet in late July.

Game dropped his first leak, “M.I.A.”, off the mixtape earlier this week, and now, here is a look at the mixtapes cover. It is predominantly red with Game’s signature style name at the top with “brake lights” in lowercase beneath. DJ Skee‘s name is also featured on the cover as he will serve as the project’s host. The mixtape will be released next week and is to be produced entirely by Cool & Dre. (57th Ave)
