New York rap veteran Nas has co-signed Kendrick Lamar‘s return to album-making. The hip-hop star has applauded K. Dot’s groundbreaking new DAMN. release.
This past weekend, Nasir Jones publicly showed his support for the Top Dawg Entertainment rapper’s latest solo offering.
The latest estimates show Lamar’s album set to do massive streaming and sales numbers.
Lamar’s new “Humble” anthem is currently the theme of this year’s NBA playoffs.
The NBA playoffs have a history of iconic theme songs, from “Roundball Rock” when the games were shown on NBC, to the ABC/ESPN era with Pitbull chanting “PLAYOFFS” in a remix of “Timber” with Kesha. This year’s playoffs theme song is (objectively) a lot better than what’s been in played in years’ past: you’ll be hearing Kendrick Lamar’s “Humble” a lot for the next two months. It’s a cleaner version, given that it’s on broadcast television, but having that song be the theme is an automatic win for the NBA. (SB Nation)
The NBA playoffs start tomorrow at 3 ET on ABC.
