Rap veteran Nas reportedly has no issues with Remy Ma using his epic “Ether” diss song instrumental for her now-infamous “shETHER” banger.
According to new reports, Nasir Jones’ record label ultimately had an issue with her using the iconic record’s beat.
Sources connected to the rapper tell TMZ … Nas has no beef with Remy using his beat to diss Nicki Minaj in “shETHER” … and it was Universal — which owns the song — that made a stink after Remy jacked the beat, slapped it on her track and sold it without its permission. Remy’s label may have dropped the ball by not getting the all clear. The track’s since been taken off Sound Cloud and radio. Sources tell us Remy’s been told she can’t even perform the track. (TMZ)
This week, Remy talked about the aftermath of dropping her hard-hitting “ShETHER” diss track.
“It just bothers me that this record that I put out where it’s literally picking apart a female went so viral, and every media outlet wants to talk about it and pick it up; I feel like we could’ve done the same thing working together. I just personally think it would’ve been so much cooler…if we came together and made something crazy […] It could’ve been totally different. New reports claim Remy’s rap rival Nicki Minaj has no plans on entertaining the feud right now.
Our sources say Nicki feels Remy’s accusations are being exposed as lies by various people, including Lil Wayne, Trey Songz, Ebro and Safaree. There’s a lot of chatter that Nicki will fall off if she doesn’t respond, but she doesn’t buy it. As for the long-term, Nicki isn’t ruling out a counterblast, but she feels right now she’s winning by silence. (TMZ)
