James boasted about how much of an impact working alongside Nas has had on him over these past few months.

“Nas is a big influence on the music I make, and he’s a big influence on my life, just because I didn’t have any brothers growing up. So it was just me and the guys I ran the streets with, and we used to grow up putting the toothbrush to our sneakers and ironing our clothes and getting dressed for school to that music. To have a chance to work with him, it’s just like I never saw that coming.” (Complex)

Boldy also gave his take on what life has been like since signing to Nas’ music company.

“I love Mass Appeal. Peter and the whole staff, I just like their system. They get things done. It’s just a real tight, neat type of program. They run a tight ship, and that’s the type of people I like to work with, like people that’s always on top of their business.” (Complex)

Nasty Nas announced the official signing of hip-hop artist Fashawn to Mass Appeal earlier this month.

“Fashawn is one of the most underrated in the game. The world is gonna know soon. We’re excited to have him as a part of the family.” Fashawn’s prepping The Ecology for his Mass Appeal debut, a project that follows a series of past efforts from the emcee, including his Ode To Illmatic piece and his critically acclaimed Exile-produced album, Boy Meets World. In June, Nas talked about his admiration for speculated Mass Appeal signee Boldy James.

“All day, yes sir,” Nas said when asked if he was signing Boldy James. “He spit. He just spit straight raw straight outta the D. Everybody know what it is in the D, and my man right there, he’s flowing. It’s just easy. It’s just easy to see the talent right there and I just wanted to be associated with that. … I’ve been hearing what he’s been doing and found out he didn’t have a deal. When I found out he was still free, I was just trying to see if he was ready to get down with this thing and go all the way with Mass Appeal and I think it’s a perfect connection.” (Hot 107.5)
