Wu-Tang Clan's Raekwon has updated fans on the status of his relationship with fellow New York emcee Nas and said the newly leaked track featuring the two exchanging bars is indeed authentic.
According to the “Chef,” his reunion with Nas stemmed from an overseas encounter.
“It definitely sounds like vintage Rae and Nas again,” Rae said about their leaked track. “I [saw] Nas across seas, we had a show together, and we talked about a lot of things,” Rae explained about how the two linked up. “We went from “A through Z “, how we felt about things what was goin on at the time, and by the grace of God we was able to get this thing happenin’ again. That was definitely one of the surprise things that I wanted to alert the fans with, just to let em know that my brother came up [for] air for me and I know through his busy schedule, in the back of his mind he was like ‘Yo I gotta come up for Rae.'” (XXL Mag)
According to reports, the leaked record is called “Rich & Black”.
This past weekend, the tracklisting for Raekwon’s Shaolin vs. Wu-Tang was finally revealed, boasting seventeen tracks and almost as many features. One notable guest appearance comes from fellow New Yorker Nas, who will appear on the song “Rich And Black.” Raekwon recently confirmed that the tracklisting was correct, give or take a few issues with sequencing. Last May, Nas said he regretted missing out on appearing on Rae’s 2009 album, Only Built 4 Cuban Linx 2.
“It’s been no discussions,” Nas said about appearing on Rae’s new project. “You know how the music game is. Everybody is out there grindin’, making music. But his last album was classic. I definitely wish I was on that piece. So yeah, something in the future is definitely likely. That’ll be good…I talked to a lot of people I really like about my next project. But there’s no one sitting there doing my album right now that I could speak of.” (MTV)
In July 2010, Rae revealed he met up with Nas while in Switzerland.

“we spoke for a few but he had a ill story he said when he was gettin on he came to staten for parkhill day in 97 and that blew my mind!”
