Rap veteran Nas recently got political, discussing his thoughts on President Barack Obama and said it took him coming into office for Mr. Jones to start really paying attention to the government.

Vowing to fully back President Obama in all his endeavors, Nasty Nas pointed out what ultimately impresses him.

“I support Barack Obama and everything he does,” said Nas. “It’s just a hell of a game and I never paid too much attention or cared about a president’s life until he got into office. I didn’t feel they cared about my life. I just feel like it’s a hell of a job. I think he cares about all Americans. And we can say, me being a black man, I’m proud to have that kind of black man in office because it takes that kind of black man…A lot of people want him to cater only to African Americans on their time, when they’re ready for him to do so. That’s ridiculous.” (The LIFE Files)

Not only inspired by the president, Nas recently gushed over the First Lady.

Michelle Obama is the most beautiful woman on the planet,” Nas said in an interview. “She cares about people. All first ladies have their jobs to do, but you can feel her sincerity.” (Complex)

President Obama showed his love for Atlanta rapper Young Jeezy back in April during a White House Correspondent dinner.

During his speech/comedy routine at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner on Saturday night (Apr. 28), U.S. President and self-admitted rap fan Barack Obama joked about following his impromptu Al Green rendition in January with a take on everyone’s favorite Snowman, Young Jeezy. At the 14:30 mark, Obama starts to wrap up his speech by giving a “quick preview of the secret agenda you can expect” if he is re-elected in 2012. “In my first term, I sang Al Green,” he says. “In my second term, I’m going with Young Jeezy.” Following the nervous laughter from his onlookers (some of whom are likely unfamiliar with Jeezy’s brand of thug motivation), Obama followed the joke by saying, “Michelle said, ‘Yeeeeah.’ I sing that to her sometimes.” (Billboard)

Recently, Atlanta’s DJ Drama told SOHH he believes President Obama is primed to serve another term come November.

“Oh, nah, never that, you know what I’m saying,” Drama told SOHH when asked if he would retire the alias “Barack O’Drama” if President Obama does not win. “He has my support and I’m not going to say when he doesn’t win because he’s gonna win and we’re going to keep the legacy going.” (SOHH)
