Bad Boy Records CEO Diddy may have some competition on his hands with fellow rap mogul Dr. Dre now interested in possibly owning the Los Angeles Clippers.
Although slim with his words, the Doc admitted he has already considered making a bid for the team if it is up for grabs.
Dr. Dre tells TMZ Sports … he’s “absolutely” interested in buying the L.A. Clippers when the NBA forces Donald Sterling to sell the team … and he seems very serious about it. “I’m thinking about it … yes,” Dre told us on his way in to Boa Steakhouse in L.A. last night. It’s not like he couldn’t afford it … Forbes just released its list of wealthiest hip hop moguls and Dre clocked in at #2, with a reported net worth of $550 million. (TMZ)
Diddy revealed an interest in buying the Clippers yesterday (April 29).
“I will always be a Knicks fan, but I am a business man. #DiddyBuyTheClippers #NameYourPrice,” Puff wrote April 29.

Boxing champion Floyd Mayweather, Jr. has also publicly come forward about possibly owning the franchise.
Boxing champ Floyd Mayweather Jr. said Tuesday that he’s interested in putting together a group – with himself as a majority owner – to buy the team if it is put up for sale. “Do we want to buy the Clippers? Yes we do,” Mayweather said. “I’m very, very interested in buying the Clippers.” (CBS News)
The NBA announced its hefty punishment against ousted owner Donald Sterling early Tuesday.
NBA Commissioner Adam Silver issued sweeping sanctions against Donald Sterling on Tuesday morning in response to controversial remarks about blacks purportedly made by Sterling. Silver said the Clippers owner was banned from any association with the team for life and fined $2.5 million. Silver added that he would urge other owners to force a sale of the team.
