Young Money’s Drake is reportedly getting a second chance at love with tennis superstar Serena Williams following an alleged fling coming to a nasty end in 2011.
According to reports, Williams is giving another shot at winning her over.
We’re told Serena’s willing to give him another chance because they have a “good vibe” — which was on full display in the pics TMZ posted of their dinner in Cincinnati. Still, friends are warning her to be careful she doesn’t get hurt again. Our Drake sources say it’s different this time — he treats her with more respect than his other dates because Serena’s a superstar in her own right. Translation: He doesn’t have to worry about her using him for fame. (TMZ)
Approached by media last month, Williams put a swift end to any romance speculation with Drizzy by her side.
On Thursday, when Williams beat Maria Sharapova in the semifinals, Drake was at Centre Court. Then he showed up at Williams’ news conference, too. So a reporter asked Williams whether Drake might be a “lucky mascot.” Williams rolled her eyes. Drake laughed, leaned forward and covered his face. “We’ve been friends for, like, so many years,” Williams said. “Just like family.” (Herald Online)
Prior to those remarks, Drizzy has posted up pictures, including one of Serena, from a Wimbledon tennis tournament.
Back in 2012, Williams said heartbreak had forced her to fall back on dating.
The 30-year-old American star, whose last serious relationship is believed to have been with the US rapper Common, said: ‘I’ve given up on dating. The last relationship was just too much of a heartbreak for me. ‘I have to remove myself from that atmosphere for about the next decade or so.’ Elaborating on her situation today, the former Wimbledon champion added: ‘I’ve just had bad luck in love. If it doesn’t work, just leave it alone, right? ‘I think in general I have much better commitment to tennis now. I really feel 100 per cent. I love being on the court – I love every moment.
