Along with the announcement, group member Havoc said fans can anticipate an album no later than early 2012.

Mobb Deep say they are just a few days away from announcing their new record deal and a few months away from putting out a new album. “Hopefully if not [this year], early next year,” Havoc told XXLMag.com when asked when him and Prodigy’s next LP would be released. In the meantime, the duo will be dropping off a gift strictly for the streets. “We’re gonna be doing a mixtape and stuff like that,” added. “We’re gonna be dropping a new song in a few days. It’s gonna be nice!” (XXL Mag)

Earlier this week, group member Prodigy said his aim was to drop a new LP in the next few months.

“We’ll be dropping the single for the [new] album soon,” P said in an interview with Bootleg Kev. “That’s the only thing we’re focusing on right now, the Mobb Deep album — it’ll be [available] before the new year. We ain’t letting nothing out the bag [with features] – just know, it’s that hard sh*t…[Alchemist], Havoc, the home team, you know? Mobb Deep, you know how we always do it.” (Bootleg Kev)

Recently, Havoc talked to SOHH about how the LP will be released.

“I’m all about getting into any situation that makes money, you understand what I’m saying,” Hav told SOHH when asked if Mobb Deep is headed indie. “So I wouldn’t just be like, ‘Oh no, indie is this and major is that.’ You can sign to an indie and it could wind up being structured like a major deal and you won’t make any money, any way. Artists beware. People are quick to say, ‘Oh yeah, I’m doing indie.’ If the deal’s not structured right, it could get structured just like a major and you won’t see no f*cking bread. I’m into getting into anything that makes money.” (SOHH)

Last April, P revealed no longer being contractually obligated to 50 Cent‘s G-Unit Records.

“You can go get your money, elsewhere. And when that happened I was always talking to 50 [Cent] the whole time while I was locked up, and I basically asked him ‘How are we going to proceed? How are we going to move forward when I get back?’ And he was telling me he was interested in negotiating a new deal, with the new situation he’s got, and I was like, ‘Alright, cool.’ Came back home, and we’re still talking about it, throwing ideas around now about how we want to do it, but as of right now we’re free agents.” (Complex)
