Reality star-turned-singer/rapper Miss Tila (formerly Tila Tequila) has packed up her Hollywood bags to take a shot at the Big Apple and decided to give SOHH the inside scoop on her life-changing decision.
Despite having spent over ten years in Los Angeles, Tila said she is ready to start a new life.
“Friends and family in L.A., that does not go together [laughs],” Tila told SOHH when asked if she regretted leaving her friends and family for New York. “That’s exactly why I left. There’s no friends and family in L.A. whatsoever, just a bunch of backstabbers. No, but I’ve been in L.A. for 11 years and I’ve pretty much done every single thing. When you wake up and you’re not inspired any more and your heart is calling to be in the city and meet new people and start a new life, you just have to follow your heart and that’s exactly what I did. I’m glad I did it because I’m having so much fun out here.” (SOHH)
When asked if the move was something she contemplated over a period of months and years, Tila said her decision was made suddenly.
“I’m not the type of person to think about stuff for a few years. Like, for instance, when I want to get a tattoo, I don’t sit there and think about it. If it’s one night and something pops up in my head like, ‘Hey, I want to get a tattoo,’ I immediately go down there and get it. I don’t think about stuff, I just do it. I woke up one day and said ‘I’m sick of LA, I’m bored to death here. I want to go to New York,’ and I did it,” Tila added. “I bought a one-way ticket and I’m here and I couldn’t be happier. I’m in the Tribeca area of New York.” (SOHH)
Around mid-July, Tila hinted at her plans to take on New York City.
“I’m looking forward to starting a new life in NYC. A clean slate and a fresh start,” Tila said in an interview. “I just want to be a normal girl with a normal life for a while. I just want to meet new friends, fall in love, get married, have babies, and call it a day!” (TMZ)
As of late, Tila has been promoting her new record, “You Can Dance” on Twitter.
“What a long day! But super fun! I’m finally just finishing up now! Yay! Now I can finally go out with my friends and celebrate #YouCanDance!,” she tweeted July 27th. (Tila Tequila’s Twitter)
