Pop singer Miley Cyrus recently talked about the attention she sparked over the past few years for her twerking skills.

In Miley’s opinion, she is the spokesperson for booty-shaking.

“Dude, it was insane. I became that girl — I was the face of twerking, which didn’t really matter. That wasn’t what it was about.” (New York Times)

Miley also talked about her relationship with now-single singer Robin Thicke following their intimate MTV Video Music Awards 2013 performance.

“I didn’t really know him too much before, and I don’t really know him now. It was funny, because I got so much of the heat for it, but that’s just being a woman. He acted like he didn’t know that was going to happen. You were in rehearsals! You knew exactly what was going to happen. And he was actually the one that approved my outfit, so I thought that was very funny. He wanted me as naked as possible, because that’s how his video was. It was very much a collaboration. My part — “We Can’t Stop” — was all me. But when it went into “Blurred Lines,” that was his performance.” (New York Times)

Cyrus is expected to host and perform at this Sunday’s MTV Video Music Awards.

Miley Cyrus won’t just host Sunday’s VMAs — she’ll also perform, sources tell Page Six. The outlandish pop star was in rehearsals for four hours on Thursday, and one of her new tunes was playing over and over, sources onsite at the Microsoft Theater tell us. “It was pretty crazy,” an insider said. (Page Six)

VMAs executive producer Garrett English recently talked about Miley taking the hosting gig.

“We’re giving her pretty free rein,” English tells EW. “Obviously there are standards and various other things that were always a part of it, but no, [no rules]… It never comes from a place of trying to limit the range, it’s always coming from a place of trying to open up the full palate.” (EW)
