After a photo of producer Pharrell Williams and actress Miley Cyrus emerged online last month, the former “Disney” star has now explained what they have in store.
According to Cyrus, she is working on an untitled solo effort with the help of Williams and other hip-hop producers.
“A lot of the beats are produced hip-hop beats,” she said, “but the vocal is very raw and my voice is kind of on top of all the tracks, which is what I wanted.” Cyrus said she is working with producer Pharrell Williams and “a lot of hip-hop producers that are actually from the South, because I wanted more of that dirty-South vibe, a little ATL in there.” While she loves performing on camera, music matters most to Cyrus. “I want people to remember me for things that are great,” she said. “Much bigger than the comedies that I do, but more about the music that I write and the songs that you leave for the world to think about.” (Billboard)
In late October, Cyrus and Pharrell were spotted in a studio alongside Odd Future’s Tyler, the Creator.
Yes, that’s right — as proven by the above photo, Skateboard P was cooking up some music with former Hannah Montana star Miley Cyrus and foul-mouthed reaction-grabber Tyler, the Creator. Pharrell posted the photo on his Twitter, simply writing “In the lab.” While it’s unclear exactly what they’re working on as of yet, colour us intrigued. Maybe Miley Cyrus’s new Robyn hair will translate into the way she sings, too. (Exclaim)
No stranger to hip-hop, Miley rocked a Nicki Minaj-based costume for Halloween last week.
Cyrus certainly got into the Halloween spirit, dressing up as a spot-on Nicki Minaj. On Wednesday (October 31), Miley tweeted a photo of herself as the Young Money rapper, opting not to recreate one specific Minaj outfit, but rather several different looks that Minaj has rocked. Cyrus covered up her short hair for a bright yellow wig, showed off mismatched nails, arm tattoos and a skin-tight leopard-print body suit, complete with butt padding. “@NICKIMINAJ you a stupppppiddddd hoe#stupittttstupitttt,” Cyrus tweeted. It seems that Minaj not only approved of Cyrus’ look since she retweeted her tweet, but was also flattered and is now considering a clever costume of her own. “I think I’m gonna go as Miley Cyrus because she’s going as me, and I just saw her picture on Twitter,” Minaj told Ryan Seacrest on Wednesday. “Should I do the short, blond cut like Miley?” (MTV)
Back in August 2011, the actresse showed off her love for Atlanta’s Gucci Mane.
“Whoop whoo! GUCCI MANE’S NEW ALBUM IN STORES TODAY!#FerrariBoyz Get ittttt,” she tweeted August 10th. (Miley Cyrus’ Twitter)
