Retired boxing champion Mike Tyson might have a serious rap career in the works. New reports claim the sports icon is set to put out a full-length music release.

According to producer Damon Elliott, hip-hop heads should expect to hear Tyson throw it down on some new tunes in the near future.

“Damn right, we’re going to put some more singles out there and put a compilation together,” Elliott tells HipHopDX during a phone call. “Why not? I’m saying it out of my mouth. I sold 150 million albums and got a Grammy — and been nominated seven times. Mike is coming for real and I’m happy about it.” (HHDX)

Earlier in the week, Tyson released his anti-Soulja Boy “If You Show Up” music video.

Last week, Mike weighed-in on Soulja Boy’s upcoming bout with music rival Chris Brown.

“Come to the fight,” Tyson said when asked how many rounds it would take for Chris Brown to knock out Soulja Boy. “It’s going to be a tough one. I don’t think it’ll be a first round knock out. I think there will be a lot of scrapping. [Dirty tricks?] It depends, it depends on how Soulja Boy’s fighting.” (TMZ)
