Maybach Music Group member Meek Mill recently updated fans on the status of his follow-up to 2012's Dreams & Nightmares and what high-profile collaborations people can look forward to.
If all goes accordingly, Grammy-winning producer Timbaland and Roc Nation songstress Rita Ora will appear on the sophomore project.
While attending the launch of “REVOLT Live” in Hollywood, the Philly MC revealed that he has recorded over 80 songs and collaborated with the likes of DJ Khaled and Rita Ora, who appears on a song called “I’ma Ride.” “It’s fire. Just know I’m spittin’ on it,” Meek exclusively told Rap-Up TV. “[Rita’s] singin’. She’s sounding very good on it. Hopefully the people love it when it drops.” Timbaland has also lent his production skills. “That’s the OG,” said Meek. “Me and Timbaland always kicking’ it for the last year or two, so I seen him one day, I was plain’ some music for him and [Jay Z], and he was like, he wanna go in and make some magic. I was all the way with that.” (Rap-Up)
Meek also promised to add his signature street sounds and delivery on the LP.
So what can fans expect from the follow-up to his 2012 debut Dreams and Nightmares? “You can expect just quality music,” explained Meek, who still hasn’t decided on a title. “You know me, I’m a street rapper. I come with that street sh*t, so I’m just com in’ with that on another level right now and takin’ them to a different place.” (Rap-Up)
Back in fall 2012, the Philadelphia rapper’s debut pushed out over 160,000 copies.
Maybach Music Group rapper Meek Mill’s Dreams & Nightmares opened at No. 2. With seven days knocked out, Mill’s long-awaited debut has sold 164,800 records. (SOHH Sales Wrap)
