Aside from his Dreams & Nightmare solo debut, Meek bigged up Kendrick Lamar‘s good kid, m.A.A.d city and 2 Chainz‘s Based On A T.R.U. Story efforts.

“My favorite album of 2012? Ohhh. I don’t know. Let me think. I got a favorite album I would say. I would say the best album beside mine is Kendrick, 2 Chainz. What else is my favorite albums? What else is fire that I’d be listening to? I just don’t want to say the politically answer. I want to say who we’re really listening to. We be listening to [Chief Keef‘s ‘Love Sosa’]. A few days ago, Kendrick Lamar named NasLife Is Good as his top pick of 2012.

“My favorite album? Nas. Yup, yup. Life Is Good. Crazy album,” Lamar revealed in an interview. “I’m definitely [picking and choosing certain collaborations]. It’s really got to be about the song. Really, you know? I don’t take the talent away from any artist. Everybody’s unique in their own way. So you don’t necessarily have to do the music I do. The West Coast rap newcomer’s major studio release reportedly hit gold status this week.

TDE artist Kendrick Lamar’s debut major label album, good kid, m.A.A.d city (Top Dawg Entertainment/Aftermath Entertainment/Interscope) has officially been certified gold, achieving sales in excess of 500,000 copies as of December 13th, according to the Recording Industry Association of America, Inc. Released October 22nd, the album received praise from critics around the country even as it debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200 album chart and #1 on both the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums and Rap Albums charts. Meek’s solo LP just missed out on topping the sales chart after hitting store shelves in October.

Maybach Music Group rapper Meek Mill’s Dreams & Nightmares opened at No. 2. With seven days knocked out, Mill’s long-awaited debut has sold 164,800 records. (SOHH Sales Wrap)
