Honored by Drizzy’s comments, Meek gushed over receiving such a respectable co-sign.

“It felt good to hear Drake show love and respect like that. Me and my homies we always thought that about the intro. You know what I’m saying? It ain’t take Drake to say it. You know, Drake just put an extra stamp on it. At the level of artist he is right now. That’s the homie. You know he gonna rep. And that’s how he must have felt. He just woke up and tweeted that. That’s how he felt. I always say most of the time in interviews Drake like the hottest, the biggest artist of our generation. So, I was smiling when I seen it. As soon as I woke up.” (Complex)

Drizzy jumped onto his Twitter page last Wednesday (April 30) and singled out Meek’s ’12 anthem.

“Dreams and Nightmares Intro really one of the best rap moments of our generation…,” Drake tweeted April 30. (Drake’s Twitter)

Coincidentally, Mill gave Drake huge props by naming him the hottest rapper last fall.

“The hottest person right now I think is Drake, of course, but everybody king in they own way. Kendrick might say he king lyrically, I might say I’m the king of the street era, raw hip-hop type. It’s different kings in different situations, so it depends on what you’re talking about.” (Power 99)

Back in fall 2012, the Philadelphia native’s debut pushed out over 160,000 copies in its opening week.
