According to reports, the Philadelphia rapper has recruited hitmaker Timbaland for the sophomore effort.

Jay Z, Beyoncé, and Justin Timberlake have all benefitted from Timbaland’s talents, and now the super-producer is applying his platinum touch to Meek Mill’s sophomore album. The MMG rapper was recently in the studio with Timbo, and shared a photo from their recording session on Instagram. “#timbo said he coming wit that heat 4 for my new album,” tweeted Meek. Both Meek and Timbaland are managed by Roc Nation. While on tour in Europe last year, Timbo previewed a collaboration with Meek, but it’s unknown where it will end up. (Rap-Up)

The rapper has also attached Bad Boy Records CEO Diddy to his next LP.

In addition to Timbaland, Meek has been in the studio with Diddy working on the follow-up to his debut Dreams and Nightmares. “My next album is all that matters #specialdelivery #2014,” said Meek, who dropped his mixtape Dreamchasers 3 in September. Dreams and Nightmares debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 in November 2012 and featured appearances from Drake, Nas, Rick Ross, and Mary J. Blige. (Rap-Up)

Coincidentally, MMG head Rick Ross revealed Puff Daddy’s involvement on his own upcoming solo release a few days ago.

“Sitting at the SSL board #Mastermind on repeat.. album mixed by Sean Diddy Combs.,” Ross tweeted January 10. (Rick Ross’ Twitter)

Ross recently raised eyebrows after revealing his LP would not make its previously scheduled mid-December drop date.

Rick Ross’ ‘Mastermind’ album was initially set to drop this year on Dec. 17, but the Bawse shares that he’s pushing the album back to a date that hasn’t been revealed. During an interview with DJ Scream on SiriusXM’s ‘Hip-Hop Nation,’ the rapper tells DJ Scream why he chose to delay the project. “I’m still putting the final touches on the album,” he shares. “You know me, making that classic is more important than anything. Making sure the streets are overwhelmed with what I am doing is what is most important. I’m gonna try to get it to you, and if I don’t, I’ll get it to you ASAP.” Ross released the song ‘No Games’ as the lead-in for the project, which serves as the follow-up to 2012’s ‘ God Forgives, I Don’t.’ (The Boom Box)
