Producer Chase N. Cashe has opened up about his relationship alongside Young Money’s Drake and said despite rap stars like Lil Wayne and Rick Ross dominating the mainstream, Drizzy is rap’s current G.O.A.T. (Greatest of All Time).
While discussing their brotherly bond, which has developed over a decade, Cashe crowned Drake atop rap’s current elite.
“We’ve got to stick together. That’s one thing I try to do. Me knowing Drake’s position in this rap sh*t right now, he’s really the forefront leader of our generation,” Chase said. “He’s the G.O.A.T. right now. As far as, if we were to say, who’s doing anything you want to do, success that the new generation wants to achieve, he’s the one who’s done it. He’s the one paving the way for us in the street and the Internet.” (The Source)
A few months ago, Jewish reggae rapper Matisyahu listed Drizzy in his SOHH Top 5 Dead or Alive list.
“I would also add Drake to the list too. I think Drake is almost on Lil Wayne‘s level, from what I’ve heard so far. I think he’s really cool and I’ve just really gotten into his music. I’m not necessarily up on his most popular songs but I listened to a bunch of his other stuff and I think he’s really on-point with what he’s doing.” (SOHH Top 5 Dead or Alive)
Mobb Deep’s Prodigy also gave Drizzy the honor of being in his SOHH Top 5 Dead or Alive.
“Drake is on there. Drake is like Kanye [West]. [He’s] just something new and different. He really don’t sound like anybody that’s out. He’s got his own little style; you could say he’s really unique with his sh*t too.” (SOHH Top 5 Dead or Alive)
Rap to the side, Drake previously proclaimed himself the best Jewish entertainer of all time.
Sandy Koufax … Albert Einstein … Moses … and now Drake?!? D*mn right. “[Would I get criticized for messing up the Canadian national anthem in public?] Yes. [laughs] Because I’m a patriotic Canadian,” Drake told paparazzi. “Yeah. [Who’s a better Jew, me or TMZ creator Harvey Levin?] I don’t know. I’m one of the best Jews to ever do it. Ever in life. [laughs]” (TMZ)
Having released a platinum-selling debut, Thank Me Later, last year, Drake is currently gearing up for his sophomore release, Take Care, set to drop November 15th.
