Rap veteran MC Shan has stepped forward to speak out on fellow hip-hop artist KRS-One recently talking about feeling indifferent about music icon Afrika Bambaataa‘s child molestation drama.

In a new interview, Shan scolded KRS for not coming down hard on Bambaataa’s alleged criminal past.

“Even that response was kind of insensitive. It is what it is and you said it and now you answering for it and now you got people looking at you suspect because you too much on Bam’s side. Was you one of them? Remember he was homeless back in the days! Did he give you a place for a little touchy feel back in the days? Come on if it’s real it’s real tell on the motherfucker like everybody else did.” (Murder Master Music Show)

Shan also provided his personal opinion on Afrika’s legacy amid the sexual assault stories.

“I don’t pay attention to what he says! Bambaataa’s legacy is tarnished. If he used [to do] that like pedophiles do, and this is not allegedly because he admitted that he touched that man, and he manipulated these children. I ain’t ashamed to say it, I had a motherf*cker touch me when I was young, so I hate motherf*ckers like Bambaataa. A motherf*cker just touched me there wasn’t no penetration. I could put his name out there but the motherf*cker is dead now.” (Murder Master Music Show)

In a recent interview, KRS explained the difference between Afrika’s hip-hop career and personal life.

“For me if you keep it hip-hop, nothing can be taken away from Afrika Bambaataa,” KRS said in an interview. “Nothing. Just keep hip-hop. But if you want to dig into dude’s personal life and accusations that’s being made and so on. Personally — I don’t give a f*ck. Personally. Look, if somebody was harmed or whatever, y’all gotta deal with that sh*t. Deal with it. That don’t stop hip-hop. That don’t stop what you did for hip-hop. It don’t take away none of it. History is history. But deal with that. That’s personal.” (“Drink Champs”)

Recently, Bambaataa spoke out on the controversy and denied the molestation accusations.

“Peace. Peace and love to you, brother Ed and to the queen Monie Love. I definitely say this is false allegations that’s being put against me and a lot of lies. It could be me today and you tomorrow. I completely deny all types of accusations that’s being put against your brother Afrika Bambaataa. You have to ask the question, ‘Why now? What is the hidden agenda behind this?’ Is it because I’m still relevant today trying to help people across the world? Trying to start a hip-hop museum? … That’s been my life. Stopping violence and helping so many people all over the place. … My record speaks for itself.” (“The Ed Lover Show”)
