Grammy-winning singer Mariah Carey may not be fully over her past rift with one-time boyfriend Eminem after appearing to take a swing at Slim Shady during an appearance on "Watch What Happens Live!."
When asked to comment on Eminem, MC flipped the question and referred to the milk chocolate candy instead.
On the Sunday, Dec. 22 episode of Watch What Happens Live!, Andy Cohen broached the topic to the diva herself during a round of “Plead the Fifth” — asking Carey to say three nice things about Emimen. Her response was sweetly sarcastic. “They come in a package that you can carry wherever you go. People love them around the world, and they’re tasty. You can have peanut or the regular kind,” Carey sniped. “Oh my god, I love it!” a gleeful Cohen replied. (Us Magazine)
A couple years ago, Carey’s husband Nick Cannon admitted his grandfather did not approve of him engaging in a beef with Em.
“‘And then you want to go out there and start some hip-hop beef,” Cannon said impersonating his grandfather. “You know who I’m talking about, with the boy, what’s his name, Enema? Eminem. You know who I’m talking about. Nick, why you messing with him for? Ain’t he the number one great rapper out there right now doing it? You wanna go and try to beef with him. Oh, and you lost too. Oh yeah you did because he said some nasty, disrespectful slanderous stuff about your wife boy. And what’d you do? You want to go on some d*mn Twitter. What’s a Twitter? I got a 9 millimeter, you just tell me where to show up. Tweet, tweet this heat.'” (“Mr. Showbiz”)
Cannon also previously said Em’s past diss records launched toward his family remained on his mind.
“He’d have too many bodyguards around him,” Cannon said about a possible physical altercation. “Anyone who insults my wife or my family, I have an issue with — I would have to see where that man actually was coming from. If he was saying, man, this is entertainment, this is something. But if you literally have a problem with me, then we can solve that problem. You’ve crossed the line a little.” (“Piers Morgan Tonight”)
In summer 2010, Shady said he no longer had any beef against his ex-girlfriend.
“You know what? I got to be honest. I really don’t want to talk about her anymore only just because it’s kind of like the last thing I said about her was on ‘Cold Wind Blows.’ I made the comment, [‘Take a look at Mariah next time I inspire you to write a song.’], I don’t want to keep beating a dead horse. I’m not even going to comment about it. I’m done with that whole situation. I said what I had to say. I’m done.” (VIBE)
